Speak Up, Stay Safe: SRGBV Sensitisation at Wokha

The SRGBV Committee, LSC Wokha conducted a sensitisation programme on School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV) under the theme _”Speak Up, Stay Safe”_

The programme was chaired by Dendeno Yanthan, Project Coordinator, Child Helpline Wokha.

The keynote address was delivered by Shri Chandra Kant Bharti, Senior Principal of GHSS Wokha.

This was followed by three sessions covering various SRGBV topics led by four speakers:
Session I: Dr. Moasenla Imchen, DCPO Wokha, covered three key topics:
i) Understanding SRGBV: Forms of Violence and Abuse
ii) Safe Reporting & Complaint Mechanisms
iii) A Child’s Right to Privacy & Confidentiality

Session II:
Smti Wonchano E. Enny, District Mission Coordinator (DMC) of DHEW, spoke on _Gender Equality, Diversity & Non-Discrimination._

Smti Thungbeni Kikon, Centre Administrator (CA), Sakhi-OSC, presented an Awareness of the POCSO & POSH Acts.

Session III:
Smti Caroline, Member of Child Welfare Committee, Wokha, addressed:
i) Safe and Unsafe Touch, Consent & Personal Boundaries
ii) The Roles of Students, Teachers & Parents in Preventing Violence

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Renchumlo Murry, LSC Manager Wokha, followed by a photo session with all attendees.
Around 300 students, teachers, and dignitaries attended the event.
