A one-day “Orientation and Discussion Workshop” by the Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR)
A one-day “Orientation and Discussion Workshop” was convened by the Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR) to facilitate knowledge sharing and better coordination among all sister departments under the Department of School Education & SCERT at ATI, Kohima, on 29 April.
The objective of the workshop was to inform stakeholders and discuss key initiatives and expected outcomes under the ‘Strengthening Governance and Capacity Building’ component of the NECTAR Project.
Discussions focused on institutionalising mechanisms for initiatives such as the Professional Learning Communities (PLC), School Review and Improvement Programme (SRIP), SoPs and operational channels for the Education Management Information System (EMIS) and Community Engagement Models, among others.
Officials from the Department of School Education (DSE), Directorate of School Education (DoSE), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Samagra Shiksha, and NECTAR attended the workshop.
Earlier, Shashank Pratap Singh (IAS), Principal Director of DoSE and Project Director of NECTAR, delivered the welcome address, while Kevileno Angami, Commissioner and Secretary, School Education & SCERT, delivered the keynote address.
