Supporting NECTAR’s objective of enhancing community engagement and ownership in schools, the community at GMS Longdang in Tuensang District donated materials and free labour during the construction of a low-cost toilet with fund from the Performance Incentive Grants (PIG). PIG Diaries: GMS Longtsunger in Kiphire District utilised the Performance Incentive Grants (PIG) to paint their classrooms with informative and colourful BaLA art (Building as Learning Aid). The teachers also helped paint the BaLA.
Govt. School Diaries: A Pre-Primary student of GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang exemplifying the principle, ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’.
With support from the community in the form of free labour, GMS Wokha Town A renovated a hall (side wall construction, plastering, painting, ceiling) and is using it as a multi-purpose hall for gatherings and school programmes.
As part of outreach activity under the Performance Incentive Grants (PIG), teachers and SMC/SMDC members of several schools in Kiphire District conducted extensive Enrolment Drives for inclusion of out-of-school children.
A one-month School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) for heads of Government High Schools (GHS) and Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSS) held at SIEMAT Hall, SCERT, in May 2023, under the component of ‘Strengthening Governance and Capacity Building’, facilitated by the P3 Consortium under NECTAR Project.
GPS Nokyan B, a school in the far-flung district of Noklak, is making great strides in line with NECTAR’s objective of enhancing community participation in government schools.
